Nude Bleu is an exploration of designing an atmosphere with luminance, texture and form. Our clients wished to have a calm and serene space for their first home. To achieve this, allowing the flow of natural light into the space was key. With day curtains and an open-concept kitchen, we allowed for natural light to enter the space from multiple angles. This blended with the muted palette and curved furniture to creating a soft and cosy atmosphere.

With an altar space in the living room, the challenge was to integrate it with the overall design of the home. This was solved using a fluted panel door design with the pocket-door function, allowing the adequate circulation of incense, even when the doors are closed.

An island counter was incorporated as a statement piece in the design of the open living-dining-kitchen space, so one of our clients could bake comfortably on her days off. It was diagonally orientated as a form of resistance to the vertically divided layout, so that the kitchen and living room could be a dynamic space for interaction.
